EARTHQUAKES IN KENT
Pam Crane - May 2007
At 08h18 BST on April 28th 2007 an earthquake shook the East coast of Kent, UK. The USGS will have the time precise to the second. The main damage to property was in Folkestone where several hundred homes have had to be evacuated for safety checks. This wasn’t the first time; the Dover Straits were rocked so hard back in 1580 that the shocks were felt in London. That happened at “6pm” LMT on April 5th, maybe closer to Dover. Preceding solar eclipses had Pluto locally on an angle. It was setting at the 2007 Quake.

AEONIC SIDEREAL AND THE CUSPS OF THE AGES
Pam Crane - April 2007
This is the term I have chosen for a fine-tuned sidereal chart taking the Nativity of Jesus as the beginning of the Age - the ‘Aeon’ - during which he told his disciples he would be with us in this world. The Synetic Vernal Point (SVP) for 1/1/1900 is 3ºPisces32'13" with a corresponding Ayanamsa of 26ºAries27'47".
The DeLuce Ayanamsa comes very close, so it seemed rational to adjust the constellational zodiac to start at May 7th 5BC. You may be surprised that this was not my first reason for tweaking the SVP; it was in fact the inescapable evidence that we are experiencing the Aquarian Age already even though theoretically we are way off its inception date. But this was bound to happen if time had brought us into the Aquarian Dwad of the closing Piscean Age! In a way this couldn’t be, as the SVP runs backwards through the signs and in reverse the first three Dwads of Pisces - the first three sectors of 2½ degrees - are Taurus, then Aries, then finally Pisces itself.
However, if the rule were different for precessing Signs, and not the Sign but the Age of Pisces began with the Pisces Dwad, then according to DeLuce and Aeonic we would be incontrovertibly in the closing Aquarian Dwad, heralding the Age of Aquarius which would begin of course with its own Aqaurian Dwad.
Such a system would make total sense; each approaching Age would always be preceded by a preparatory 180 years of its own Sign as the final Dwad of the current Age; each Age would always begin with about 180 years of its own Sign as the initial Dwad. So the cusp of the Ages will always be a period of approximately 360 years during which the principles, ideas and energies of that Age will seed, root, and come to maturity.
*** As the Fagan-Allen Sidereal is so utterly reliable in fine-tuning and character analysis, I can only conclude that there may be more than one viable zodiac of the Constellations, with their meanings dependent on their origins. As`ever, context is everything

THE SIDEREAL STATE
Pam Crane - 2007
*** Don’t forget that by their very nature Nations and their rulers and governors are not primarily Tropical but Sidereal. The USA is Gemini, and the adventurous UK is a Sagittarian country.

COMPLEMENTARY PROGRESSIONS - and an apology!
Pam Crane - 2007
Every number in a system has its natural reciprocal. This is properly taken to be the multiplication of one number by another, its reciprocal, to produce 1.
But in Astrology, dealing with circles and cycles, I have taken the liberty of adopting the same term to describe the number which adds to its ‘reciprocal’ to make 360. This is bound to have caused confusion and consternation among proper mathematicians, so I apologise! ... and will replace my old favourite with the more accurate term, Complementary.
I have the same feeling about the ratios used in progressing the radix chart. Commonly, secondary progressions take a day to represent a year; the ‘Complementary’ of this for me would be to take a year and let it represent one day. If this seems to work descriptively in real life, it could be of immeasurable value in pinning down key turning-points with great accuracy, as it amplifies the unfolding of time by a massive factor of 365.

SIDEREAL ECLIPSES
Pam Crane - March 2007
Can’t stress enough the importance of working Interdimensionally - a dear friend left this life on March 2nd 2007; the total Lunar Eclipse marking her departure followed early the next morning in 13 Pisces - the degree of her Fagan-Allen Sidereal Sun. This was ostensibly an Aries woman of phenomenal energy - but her life was lived for others. She was truly that sidereal Piscean, and it is the Piscean whom the wider community now mourns.

IRON-IES
Pam Crane - March 2007
Intrigued and appalled to learn from a TV documentary that Lew Wallace who betrayed Billy the Kid went on to write the modern Christian classic ‘Ben Hur’ - the film of which starred Charlton Heston, one of the most vigorous proponents of USA gun culture. What’s going on here???

STORMS & ECLIPSES
Pam Crane - February 2007
Two Lunar eclipses, of February and August 1952, preceding both the Lynmouth flood disaster of August 15th that year and the terrible North Sea/Channel storm surge of January 31st 1953, both occurred on an angle of the local chart conjunct Pluto. No such pattern seems to precede the flood at Boscastle on August 16th 2004. Jury’s still out!

TRINITIES
Pam Crane - May 2006
I’ve written elsewhere about the probable correlation of the Fire Triangle with God the Father (Aries), God the Son (Leo) and God the Holy Spirit (Sagittarius).
But we have three other elements, three more Trinities.
Fire, Plasma, subjective and intuitive being, is the most refined and refining, hence highest in the spiritual order.
Air, Gas, objective thinking, is still ethereal but denser than Fire; my suggestion for its Trinity would be the Man the Philosopher (Libra), ManMan the Dealer (Gemini). the Scientist (Aquarius) and
Water, liquid, condenses from gas and astrologically is feminine, subjective and emotional in essence; hence a Trinity of Woman the Mother (Cancer), Woman the Angel (Pisces), and Woman the Temptress.
Earth, solidly and objectively material is our home in this world; so its Trinity must comprise the conditions that meet us - the World as Work (Capricorn), the World as Pleasure (Taurus), and the World as Necessity (Virgo). Perhaps you can come up with some creative ways to personalise this Trinity?
*** The Cardinal Cross of the four elements expresses beautifully what is thought to have been created at the ‘Big Bang’: Aries/Fire is Light Energy (which coalesces as stars), Libra/Air is Light Matter (which separates in nebulae), Cancer/Water is coalescent Dark Matter (without which no life form would be possible) and Capricorn/Earth is separative Dark Energy (necessary to end cycles in death?) The presence of unseen interstellar dark matter is now mathematically acknowledged. The possibility of far more than the 3 humanly accessible dimensions also. Science and the Spiritual are but a whisper apart.

REFLEX PROGRESSIONS
Pam Crane - May 2006
On May 16th 2006 I was asked to serve as vice-president of the local Churches Together. Nothing much showing in the daily progressions ... until I remembered to check the Reflex (ContraScia) patterns. Voila! Daily progressed MC reflexed to conjoin p. Jupiter, and my husband’s daily converse MC was doing the same! (He was very chuffed.)
*** With Reflexes we are in a way squaring the astrological circle; each Cardinal 0º axis is like a mirror reflecting the degrees on either side of it over to the opposite side, and for degree-positioning the 0º Aries/Libra axis works best in my opinion - because it also generates degree-pairs that are natural reciprocals of each other in the 360º circle. (There is an excellent article on this whole area of circular mathematics by Axel Harvey from the AA Journal back in early 1975 - entitled “The Unity of Harmonics, Aspects, Antiscions, Midpoints and Other Mean Points”. It is very technical, full of formulae, hence not for the Neptunian or the faint-hearted! But it has useful graphics, too, showing how Reflex Points (my phrase) have identical amplitude on the zodiac viewed as a sine wave. ) It means that based on any one pair of reflecting axes, and depending on your level of precision, the circle contains an infinite number of symmetrical rectangles, from the thinnest slivers bounding the axes themselves to perfect squares at 15º of the Fixed Signs. (See ‘InterDimensional Astrology’ for a full exploration of this phenomenon.) Think in rectangles instead of points or lines, and you will miss far less of what is really going on.

STRING THEORY - ZODIACAL!
Pam Crane - February 2006
Now ‘They’ think it’s all made of Strings. And loops. Go beyond the Quark, the Muon, the Higgs-Boson (which is possibly being hunted to extinction...) We have known the Universe is made of strings and loops since astrologers started thinking. And that was a Long Time Ago. Not just little barely-detectable sub-atomic strings, but socking great cosmic strings that are just as invisible, and just as discoverable given the right instructions. We have been working with them for millennia. We call them zodiacs. Zodiacs are generated by significant fiduciae like Ascending Nodes in orbits, major stars, planets squatting on an ecliptic. They may be made by the start and end of city streets and imaginary lines on a globe. They flow and circle from cusp to cusp of Great Ages. They are probably twisting through our DNA, talking to the skies around us and building who we are. They are no doubt tinily animating the smallest stuff of the cosmos and looping immeasurably from the Big Bang to the End of Time. We live in an omnidimensional, omnidirectional ocean of Meaning in which thoughts really are things. And ‘God geometrizes’. No wonder we’re highly-strung...!

DOING WHAT COMES NATURALLY
Pam Crane - October 2005
Stereotype? Archetype? Oh how people do confuse them. However aggrieved we may feel, both exist, and at times we all conform. Especially in a crowd. Just watch the Moon - what sign is it in? So how are people behaving?... more idiot drivers than usual? Normal conditions for Moon in Aquarius or Pisces; ‘Guess what I’m going to do next!’ All the old fogeys out on the road? Slow queues at the Pension counter?... Capricorn Moon. Moon Aries - the speed freaks will be out and tempers short, so let’s look forward to a fortnight’s time when Libra will restore calm, courtesy and overall good will! And yes, Leo is generous. Witness the charity shop takings on those golden days. This is not Sidereal stuff, please note; this is good old Tropical ‘me’ stuff elbowing through month after month in a world full of ‘you’.
All twelve signs co-exist in their fundamental circular relationship; and as many a thoughtful astrologer has found, succeed in defining each other and the functions of their kindred houses simply through the attributes of that sequence.
If you want to understand the archetype (or stereotype) of an Aquarian, you stick it on the 1st house cusp and read the rest of the sky. If you want to understand the archetype of the Scientist, your TV repair man, or of a New Age Commune, you do likewise. They will each be Piscean in their attitude to property, Arian in speech, Taurean at home, Gemini with the kids, Cancerian about their health, Leonine in marriage, Virgoan toward death and taxes, Libran on the world trip, surprisingly Scorpio on the corporate ladder, Sagittarian at conferences and Capricorn - moping, Eeyore - when stuck in any version of the 12th house. Those are the inescapable basics. Then you can look at the birth-chart to see with what degree of success the native overcomes this cosmic and social conditioning! Complete? Honestly? You want a bet?...
It’s the same with men (Aries, Leo, Scorpio), women (Libra, Cancer, Taurus), children (Gemini teens and Cancer tots), clergy (Sagittarius and Pisces), builders (Taurus), famous mountaineers and local Council officials (Capricorn), 1st Aid volunteers and restaurant staff (Virgo). The Archetypes all define one another in one glorious ring-o’-roses that can’t be undone. Marc Edmund Jones has written wonderfully on all this in the context of the Houses, in his classic ‘Horary Astrology’. Take a trip on the Circle line!

ECLIPSES AND RETURNS - DWADS and COMPOSITES
Pam Crane - April 2005
Essential to add the Dwad of an Eclipse or a Return of any kind to its radix to reveal the full picture. Also to make a Composite of an Eclipse or any Return with the nativity you are working on, to see its full impact on the individual.

RELOCATION and the DWAD
Pam Crane - 2004
Relocation techniques are great when migrating from country to country or one end of the UK to another - but how do you sort out the pros and cons of moving a few miles??? No problem. Fine-tune. We have the Dwad. This amplifies everything in any chart by 12, spreading out Moons, Ascendants and MCs to make or break contacts with other factors in both Dwad and Radix (always compare the two.) Try it -especially those of you who, like me, have a fidgety history! You’ll soon learn which patterns work well for you and which fail. And you can have fun planning where to go next.
